Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a challenging and deadly disease faced by critical care specialists. The literature concerning ARDS has been increasing for the last 12 years and there are now many options available to treat this disease. However, not all of these options work and some may even be harmful to patients. The purpose of this paper is to provide the reader with a review of the new criteria for ARDS definition and to discuss the pros and cons of the various treatment options now available.Downloads
